Telegram Members

Overview

As the name suggests, the Telegram Members indicator tracks the number of users in the official Telegram group of a particular crypto-asset. Some crypto-assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum do not have official Telegram groups, which is why this indicator shows no data for them. However, the Telegram sentiment indicator will still show sentiment based on relevant large Telegram groups.

The number of members in a crypto-asset’s Telegram group is reflective of its community (though there can be ways to game this metric). In general, the number of Telegram members tends to be a lagging indicator of price, meaning that it tends to move along with price but with a delayed time. However, at times there may be crypto-assets that manage to grow their community without price having increased.
