Number of Depositors in Staking Contract

Overview

Number of Depositors in Staking Contract indicators show the total number of addresses that have supplied any amount of ETH to the Ethereum staking contract over time.

💡 How can I use it?

The number of addresses interacting with staking on Ethereum is a solid proxy of the amount of users that are participating in securing the Ethereum network in exchange for a reward. An increase in this number means a higher interest in the Ethereum blockchain and an increase in trust over its consensus mechanism of proof of stake. The higher the number of addresses the higher the chance that the Ethereum network remains decentralized, since more addresses bring more capital that ideally will be distributed among different validators, and the amount of capital necessary to compromise the blockchain becomes more expensive. This constant increase makes it constantly more expensive for an attacker to be able to buy the necessary capital required for an attack.
