This indicator measures the average amount of time that coins are being held, before being transacted or traded.
The holding time of transacted coins indicator can provide powerful insights into the level of investor confidence and the sentiment of the market.
In the case that coins are being held for longer periods of time before being traded, may indicate that investors are confident in the long-term prospects of the market and are willing to hold onto their coins for extended periods.
While on the other hand, if coins are being traded more frequently, this may indicate that investors are more focused on short-term gains and are less confident in the long-term outlook of the market.
This trend described can be noticed on the graph above. The coins bought on the bear market (circle green) presumably by long-term investors had an average holding period of about 8 months. On the other hand, the coins bought at the peak of the bull market (circle red) presumably by retail traders had an average holding period of 2 months.
